Roulette

Roulette is one of the iconic casino games and it is featured in many books, movies and TV series that involves casinos. At the roulette table, the croupier spins a ball inside a horizontal wheel while the players make their bets. Eventually, the ball will drop into one of the numbered slots around the wheel, determining the winning number. European roulette wheels have slots numbered 0-36. American wheels have one more slot since they use both a zero (0) and the double-zero (00). Read more…

Black Jack

Black Jack is a card game where your goal as a player is to get a better hand than the dealer. The best possible hand consists of an Ace + a 10 point card, while the second-best hand is any other hand worth 21 points.

Black Jack can be played with one or several decks. Standard Black Jack use the standard 52 card deck, with no jokers or other wild cards. The cards 2-10 are worth their numerical value, the cards Jack, Queen and King are worth 10 points each, and the Ace is worth 1 point or 11 points, depending on what’s best for the hand.

During a round of Black Jack, each player is dealt a starting hand consisting of two open-faced cards. The player then chooses between staying or getting one or more cards (one at the time). A hand that reaches 22 points or more is immediately forfeited, together with the bet.

When all players have made their decisions, the dealer reveals her own hand and all hands that are better than the dealer’s get paid. Read more…

Craps

Craps is a dice game played with two dices. It started out as a street game, before moving into gambling halls and eventually reaching even the most hoity-toity casinos. Just as on a roulette table, the players can make many different bets, depending on what odds and possible payout they are looking for. Generally speaking, the lower the chance of winning, the more you get paid if you win.

Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud Poker is a poker game played against the house; you will not be comparing your poker hand to that of other players at the table. You make an initial bet and get to see your poker hand. If you wish to play the hand, you must make a second bet, and this bet must be exactly double the size of the first bet. The dealer will then reveal her hand.

The dealer’s hand must reach a pre-determined threshold to qualify. If it doesn’t, all remaining player hands get paid 1:1 on the first bet, regardless of how good or poor the hands are. Nothing is paid out on the second bet, but it isn’t lost either.

If the dealer’s hand do qualify, each player hand will be compared to the dealer’s hand. If the player hand is better, the player gets paid 1:1 on the first bet, and will also receive a payment on the second bet. How large the payment on the second bet will depend on how high-ranking the player’s hand is.

Caribbean Stud Poker tables are typically connected to a big progressive jackpot. If you want to have a chance at winning the jackpot, you must make a jackpot side bet before you get your cards. Read more….

Slot machines

The slot machine was invented over a century ago and has gone through many transformations since then, from purely mechanical with physical spinning reels to electronic and then finally computerized where the wheels are just graphics on a computer display.

If you play slots online, you can try out slot machines from a wide range of game developers, from giants such as NetEnt and Microsoft to small niche developers like Yggdrasil and Rabcat.

The three reel or five reel configurations dominate even among modern video slots, but some developers have created slot games that work differently, e.g. Gonzo’s Quest where you have tumbling stones instead of spinning reels on your screen.

Video Poker

Most types of video poker are based on five-card draw poker. You get five cards dealt to you face up, and you then decide how many to replace (from 0 to 5). In standard video poker, you only get one chance to improve your hand.

When you play video poker, you know beforehand exactly how good your poker hand must be for you to get paid. The most widespread video poker variant is called Jacks or Better since it will pay for any hand that consists of a pair of jacks or better.
